Miracles

Four miracles, one per element, change the rock of the sky. You pay for them in faith and they are announced to both players before they act.

Since v16.

How to make a miracle

Tap Miracles, the button under the specials: its ring fills up with faith. Choose a card, tap the target and tap the same spot again to confirm. A grayed-out card tells you why: missing element, too little faith, the sky is resting. Every miracle needs its element unlocked, like the buildings. The target has to be near one of your connected cells, or in your light of that element: a Stele placed forward stretches the reach. Faith is paid right away and the miracle can’t be undone. It stays announced for a few seconds: both players see the marked cells and the time left. At the end the miracle checks the sky again: if it no longer fits, it fades and gives back half the faith. One miracle at a time. When it ends, the sky rests 110 s before the next one.

Stone Cloud (Rain)

50 faith, 10 s warning. Raises a new cross-shaped islet, with four landings, in empty sky at least 3 cells away from any other island. It is born neutral: the first bridge that touches it takes it, even the enemy’s. It is a stop halfway along a long crossing. You can raise at most 2 islets per match.

Landslide (Lightning)

80 faith, 12 s warning. Drops up to 7 cells of the edge of a lesser island held by the enemy, with whatever is on them. It also drags down the planks of enemy bridges within 2.5 cells of the spot hit. If the rock next to the landing of its only bridge falls, the island is left cut off and crumbles. Home islands and springs are not touched.

Current (Wind)

70 faith, 8 s warning. Moves an islet by at most 20 cells: one cell every 3 s, up to 5 cells. Tap the sky next to the islet: it moves toward the tap. It works on neutral islets and yours too. A bridge in its way stops it.

Dawn Bridge (Sun)

60 faith, 6 s warning. Lays a straight bridge, from 3 to 8 cells, from where one of your pieces would start to a free landing. Tap the landing you want to reach: the game picks the shortest start. Its planks hold 150 instead of 60.

How to defend

A Stele standing for at least 5 s holds the rock steady within 3 cells: the Landslide skips those cells and the Current does not move an island with a Stele of its owner on it. It has to be placed in the first seconds of the warning. Against the Stone Cloud and the Dawn Bridge it is enough to lay a piece on the marked cells before the warning ends.

The computer

First Flight makes no miracles, Breeze only Stone Cloud and Dawn Bridge, from Wind up all four.

The Bare Hands Omen also forbids miracles.

What’s new

  • v22 Towers don’t break bridges anymore. A shot on a bridge hurts whoever is on it, but the plank holds. A bridge now falls in just three ways: cut off from the temple for a while, hit by the sky (the Gust on the tips, storm lightning, Saetto’s Wrath), or hit by the powers made for it: Thunderstorm, Deluge, Cistern, Landslide and the Blaze weave. The Landslide now also drags down nearby enemy planks.
  • v21 Miracle signs: in the Miracle cards, tap “Draw a sign”, the cards close and the map stays clear. Draw a drop (Stone Cloud), a bolt (Landslide), a curl (Current) or a ray (Dawn Bridge): the miracle opens already aimed, and one tap on its shadow casts it. “Cancel” goes back. You can still tap a card, like before.
  • v20 If a miracle has nowhere to go right now, the line at the bottom says so and explains what’s needed: for the Landslide, a lesser enemy island near your lands, never the enemy’s home island.
  • v16 Four miracles, from the Miracles button under the specials. Stone Cloud raises a new islet with four landings. Landslide makes the edge of an enemy island fall away. Current moves an islet. Dawn Bridge lays a straight bridge up to a landing.
  • v16 A Stele holds the rock around it in place: put one down fast against an enemy Landslide or Current.
  • v16 The computer uses miracles from Wind up; Breeze only Stone Cloud and Dawn Bridge; First Flight none. The Bare Hands Omen also bans miracles.
