Rule

The hand

Hold down on a rock of your island, pull back like a slingshot and let go: the hand throws a rock that deals 40 damage where it lands.

Since v21.

How to throw

  1. Hold down for half a second on a free rock of one of your islands linked to the temple: the hand lifts it.
  2. Without lifting your finger, pull back like a slingshot. A curve of dots shows the flight and a ring shows where it lands: red if something of the enemy is there.
  3. Let go: the rock flies in the direction opposite to your pull. The more you pull back, the farther it goes: from 1 to 8 power, up to 12 cells.

A pull that is too short, or a second finger: nothing flies.

What it costs

10 faith, then the hand rests for 20 seconds. The rock deals 40 damage in the cell where it lands, even where towers can’t reach. On a bridge it hits whoever is standing or walking on it, but the plank holds. A Gust pushes it off course in flight.

Where it is

Wherever Cirro is. The Bare Hands Omen forbids it. The computer uses it at the Gale and Tempest levels.

Why

At Crowstone the spirit of the temple becomes a God. A spirit has no hands; a young God has one, a small one. It only throws rock, never wind: the wind arrives on foot, with the Veiled.

The god’s hand lifts a rock, with the curve of the throw
The hand throwing a rock.

What’s new

  • v22 At the bottom, “Build” opens the elements and buildings and closes as soon as you choose. Next to it stays the last building you chose: one tap and it’s in your hand again. On computers the elements are always in view.
  • v21 The hand: hold down on a loose rock on your island, pull your finger back like a slingshot and let go. A curve of dots shows the flight and a ring shows where it lands. The rock does 40 damage, costs 10 faith, and then the hand rests for 20 seconds. The Gust pushes it in flight.
  • v21 The computer uses the hand on Gale and Tempest.
  • v21 Cirro, the hand and the signs aren’t in the tutorial or on the Route of the Winds. The Bare Hands Omen also bans the hand.
  • v21 The Bestiary has cards for Cirro, the signs and the hand.
  • v17.2 In big battles the game stays smoother and the sound doesn’t stutter: fewer overlapping sounds, and the new “Auto” graphics quality, chosen at the start, lowers the graphics if the device slows down. If you had picked a quality by hand, it stays the same.
  • v15.1 New: “Learn to play”. Eight short lessons, one thing at a time, led by Refolo, a breath of wind. A hand shows where to tap.
