Gust Tower
The Wind’s attack tower. A cross tower: long direct shots, only along its row and its column.
How to use it
The Gust Tower shoots far: 7.2 cells. Each shot deals 12 damage and reloads in 1.4 s. It’s a cross tower: it shoots only along its row and its column, in the four directions, never sideways. Put it on the row or the column of what you want to hit. The shot is direct: an enemy Cloud Wall on the line stops it. See Towers and targets.
Strengths and weaknesses
Strong
- It shoots far. It hits Pylons and Mirrors on its row or its column from outside their reach.
- In a Gust it deals double damage.
- Inside an active Vortex of yours it shoots 1.5 cells farther.
Weak
- It hits nothing outside its row and its column.
- Walls stop it completely.
- In Fog its range drops to ×0.6.
- Low health: 70.
Counter
Stay off its row and its column. A Hail Mortar shoots in an arc and flies over everything: it’s the safest answer. A Cloud Wall in front of what you want to protect takes away its line of fire. A nearby Mist takes away 40% of its damage.

What’s new
- v22.1 The Gust Tower’s cross shows in full even when it crosses a higher terrace, like the temple’s. Before, the arm going up onto the terrace ended up under the ground and disappeared.
- v22 Towers come in two families. Cross towers shoot far, but only straight along their row and column: Gust Tower, Hail Mortar, Arch of High Winds. Circle towers shoot all around, but short: Lightning Pylon, Burning Mirror, Twin Mirror.
- v17.3 The Route of the Winds has fifteen worlds in six chapters, and each world gives you just one new thing. You start with bridges, Collectors, Gusts and Steles; then, one world at a time, come the Wall, the four elements, the specials, faith and miracles, the crews, the nests and the truce.
- v16.1 A Fog sky still shortens Gusts and Mirrors, but now you can see it. While you place a tower, its circle shows its range right now, and the full range stays dashed and faint. The same goes for the circles of enemy towers.
