Lightning Pylon
The Lightning’s attack tower. A short discharge that jumps to other nearby targets.
How to use it
The Pylon is a circle tower: it hits everything around it, in every direction. Range 4.5 cells, damage 12, reload 1.5 s. The discharge jumps to 2 more targets within 3.3 cells. The first takes all the damage, then 70%, 50% and 40%. Put it where the enemy has to pass: at the tip of a contested bridge, near an island the enemy wants to take. It also hits the Veiled and the Carrier on the bridges. The bridge planks hold.
Strengths and weaknesses
Strong
- It hits everything around it and Walls don’t stop it.
- A charged Lightning Rod of yours nearby makes it deal double damage.
- In a Storm it deals ×1.5 damage and jumps to one more target.
Weak
- Its range is the shortest: a Mirror, or a cross tower that has it on its row or its column, hits it from outside.
- A nearby enemy Lightning Rod soaks up its discharges.
- With the Tailwind it reloads more slowly.
Counter
Stay out of its reach and hit it from far away: a Hail Mortar or a Gust Tower on its row or its column, or a Burning Mirror. A Lightning Rod next to your buildings takes its discharges.

What’s new
- v22 Towers come in two families. Cross towers shoot far, but only straight along their row and column: Gust Tower, Hail Mortar, Arch of High Winds. Circle towers shoot all around, but short: Lightning Pylon, Burning Mirror, Twin Mirror.
- v22 Ranges are about a third shorter: the Gust reaches 7 cells, the Mortar 8, the Pylon 4 and a half. No tower can hit a temple from halfway across the map anymore. A cross tower hits the temple if its row or column crosses the temple yard, the 3-by-3 courtyard around the temple.
- v17 Flyers don’t need bridges, but they can’t fly for long and go back to the nest to rest. Each family has just one counter: the Mirror for kites, Mist for sparks, the Gust for clouds, the Pylon for lanterns.
