Character

Cirro

The guardian of your temple, a cloud bird with a heart of stone. He does one thing at a time on his own and learns from you with “Good job” and “No”.

Since v21.

Who he is

Cirro is a thread of Volana’s first breath that stayed wrapped around a stone of the first spring. He took the shape of a cloud bird, with the stone in place of his heart. He is young like the young God, and he learns from him. Refolo is like a big brother to him. Every temple has its own Cirro, the enemy’s too.

What he does

When he finishes one thing he picks another, among the ones that have something to do:

Towers can’t see him and he doesn’t die: there is nothing to defend.

TaskWhat he does
repairsflies to your most damaged building or bridge and repairs it, 6 health per second for 5 seconds
escortsflies above the Veiled one who has been walking the longest: that Veiled one can take one hit
strikestakes a rock at the temple and throws it at the enemy building closest to your temple: 35 damage, then 12 seconds of rest
collectstakes a wind bubble passing over your land (see Wind bubbles)

How he learns

Tap the drop at the top: in the box that opens, Cirro’s line says what he is doing, with four little bars: how much he likes to repair, escort, strike and collect. When Cirro finishes something his line shows up on its own under the bar, and Good job and No appear at the bottom right for a few seconds. Good job makes him do the thing he just did more often, No less often. A task never drops below 5 out of 100: Cirro never completely stops doing anything. Tap his name to see him on the map. His leanings stay from one match to the next, saved on this phone or computer together with your progress on the Route of the Winds; with an account, on your other devices too.

How he grows

Cirro never gets stronger: he repairs, escorts and strikes with the same numbers for everyone. He only grows in looks:

  • in size, with the matches you play: bigger from 10 matches, bigger still from 30;
  • since v24, in a match where your temple reaches the fourth stage (see Temples in stages) he becomes big until the end of the match, only in looks;
  • the tips of his feathers take the color of the element you use most, with miracles and Collectors;
  • a Cirro who repairs a lot has a pale belly, one who strikes a lot has dark wings.

Where he is

In every free match, online and in the Siege. He isn’t in the tutorial or on the Route of the Winds. In Ranked matches and in the World of the Day he plays with the leanings of a young Cirro, the same for everyone: the leaderboard measures you. In matches between friends online each player brings their own.

Why

Cirro is a breath of Volana: the wind goes where it wants, you can only teach it the way. Of the first breath he kept a thread, always the same one: that’s why he doesn’t get stronger. See The story of Aeolia.

What’s new

  • v24.3 Cirro's “Good job” and “No” appear beside Rotate, apart from each other, and no longer cover the bar. On narrow phones “Undo” shows only its arrow.
  • v24.2 The end of a challenge tells you how it went: the time, the temple stage, the village points, the islands that believe in you, the bubbles taken by Cirro and the Veiled ones lost. If the challenge failed, the God’s line comes back.
  • v24 The temple grows with the village: from the first stage it rises to the second at 8 points, the third at 14, the fourth at 20. Each new stage gives 300 more health and you can see it: columns, then towers, then a crown. From the second, faith can go up to 120 instead of 100. At the fourth Cirro looks bigger, though no stronger.
  • v23 The Veiled, the Keeper and the Carrier walk at less than half their old speed. Nest flyers and Cirro fly at just over half. Their steps are shorter too, so their feet don’t slide.
  • v22.5 When a building appears on top of a tree or a rock, the tree or rock disappears. Flyers land on top of the nest and fly over the temple dome, and Cirro flies over the towers.
  • v22.1 In the faith panel, Cirro’s line wraps: “No” no longer sticks out past the edge.
  • v22 Accounts: in Settings → Profile you can create an account with email and password (you need to be at least 14; under 14, a parent creates it). You keep everything you’ve done so far: route, Cirro, saved matches, score and name.
  • v22 On phones the map is clear again. At the top there’s a single bar: wind, the two temples with the clock, a drop with your faith, and the menu. Tap the drop to open faith and followers, the God, Cirro, “Tend the village” and the minimap; when a prayer arrives, the drop lights up.
  • v22 Messages sit on one line under the bar and disappear after a few seconds; danger messages stay for 8 seconds, on two lines. You can find them again in the history. “New” and “Feat” are two small tags. When Cirro finishes something, “Good job” and “No” show up for a few seconds at the bottom right.
  • v21 Cirro, the guardian: every temple has a cloud bird with a heart of stone. He flies on his own and does one thing at a time: he repairs your buildings and bridges, escorts one of the Veiled, throws a rock at the nearest enemy building, or grabs a wind bubble over your lands.
  • v21 Under the God’s line is Cirro’s: what he’s doing, four small bars for how much he likes repairing, escorting, hitting and gathering, and two buttons. “Good job” makes him do what he just did more often, “No” less often. Tap his name to see him on the map.
  • v21 Cirro never gets stronger. Between matches he remembers his lessons and only grows in looks: bigger after 10 matches and after 30, feather tips in the color of the element you use most, a light belly if he repairs a lot, dark wings if he hits a lot. Cirro stays saved on this phone or computer, along with your progress on the route.
  • v21 Towers can’t see Cirro, and Cirro can’t die. In ranked matches and in the World of the Day he plays like a young Cirro, the same for everyone. Online, between friends, everyone brings their own.
  • v21 Cirro, the hand and the signs aren’t in the tutorial or on the Route of the Winds. The Bare Hands Omen also bans the hand.
  • v21 The Bestiary has cards for Cirro, the signs and the hand.
