Siege

Two players together on the Cross against eight waves of enemy islands. You win when no enemy island is armed anymore.

Since v18.

A Siege island come down armed: its tower is shooting
An enemy island in the Siege, with towers on its arms.

How to choose it

In New world choose Four players: the world is a Cross. In How to play tap Siege. You are side 1, your ally the opposite side; against the computer your ally is played by the computer at the level you chose. The two sides in the middle push the waves.

The waves

The first wave comes at minute 3:00, then one every 120 s. Each wave brings an enemy island for each of you two, at the same distance from the two temples. The spot is marked on the map 20 s ahead. The enemy island comes down armed: its towers shoot right away, with no light and no bridges. If one of your bridges is on the spot, it breaks. The first waves bring one tower, the last one four. Bring down all the towers of an island and the island is free: its spring becomes yours if you link it. At the top, under the bar, a line tells you which wave you are on, how long until the next one and how many enemy islands are still armed.

How it ends

  • Siege broken: all eight waves have come down and no enemy island is armed anymore. You won.
  • Temples fallen: your two temples are down at the same moment. The siege wins.
  • Time’s up: after 25:00 of play there are still armed enemy islands. The siege wins.

In the Siege there are no Late hours. You can also attack: an enemy Keeper carried to your altar takes that side and its waves out of the game.

What’s new

  • v22 A match now lasts 20-30 minutes. Wind comes in more slowly, buildings cost more, the rack refills in 7 seconds, and a fallen temple rises again after 90 seconds. The late hours start at minute 22, and you can offer a truce from minute 15. Night, visits of the gods, prayers, drifting islands and Siege waves come later.
  • v20 In Siege, night still falls at the tenth minute, but the line that explains it no longer talks about the late hours: Siege doesn’t have them.
  • v18 Siege: in New world, on the Cross, “How to play” has a third choice. You and an ally against eight waves of armed enemy islands, which come down at the marked spot. You win when no enemy island is armed anymore; a line at the top tells you which wave you’re on.
  • v18 World of the Day together: from the World of the Day page, “Together” plays today’s world as a Siege, on a Cross, with a computer ally. For now it doesn’t go on the leaderboard.
