Characters
Three figures walk on the bridges: the Veiled carry the wind, the Keeper watches over the temple, the Carrier goes to fetch the enemy Keeper. In the story there are also the four gods, Refolo, Sterpa and Cirro.
Who they are
Buildings don’t move. Everything that walks is one of these three figures, and all three can be hit. We drew them ourselves, with the game’s code: none of them comes from other games. Who they are and where they come from is told in The story of Aeolia.
In the story
- The gods, one per element: Volana, Saetto, Nembra, Lucerno. They have no figure: you see them in their element, the wind, the lightning, the rain, the light.
- Refolo, Volana’s last breath, who teaches you to play and comes with you along the route.
- Sterpa, the spirit of a temple in the south, who runs ahead of you toward Crowstone.
- Cirro, your temple’s guardian: a cloud bird with a heart of stone, born from a thread of Volana’s first breath. He flies on his own and learns from you.
- You, the spirit of a temple: you don’t walk, you choose where the bridges and the towers go.
- The VeiledHooded figures who live at the temple. They go out empty-handed, take the wind from the Collectors and carry it home.
- KeeperThe one who watches over the temple. If the temple falls the Keeper stays on the ground, and whoever brings it to their own altar wins: there it turns to light and rises to the gods.
- CarrierThe only figure that goes into enemy territory. It takes the fallen Keeper and brings it to your altar.
- RefoloVolana’s last breath, a moth of pale light. He teaches you to play and comes with you along the Route of the Winds.
- VolanaThe goddess of the Wind, the oldest of the four gods. She carries the wind to the faraway springs; now she sleeps in the first spring, at Crowstone.
- SaettoThe God of Lightning. Impatient, he loves whoever challenges him and gives them gifts.
- NembraThe goddess of the Rain. Slow and patient, she counts time in seasons, and she teaches you to pray.
- LucernoThe God of the Sun. He repairs and looks before he strikes; he teaches you to take care of whoever carries the wind.
- SterpaThe spirit of a temple in the south, the first sky that dried up. He prays only to Saetto and runs ahead of you toward Crowstone.
- CirroThe guardian of your temple, a cloud bird with a heart of stone. He does one thing at a time on his own and learns from you with “Good job” and “No”.
