Sterpa

The spirit of a temple in the south, the first sky that dried up. He prays only to Saetto and runs ahead of you toward Crowstone.

Who he is

Sterpa is the spirit of a temple, like you. His is a sky in the south, the first one that dried up when Volana fell asleep. He’s a dry puff of wind, with dust and dead leaves; his banner and the veils of his Veiled are rust-colored. He prays to one God only, Saetto. He has no face. You recognize him by his traces: the dust on the springs where he’s been, the rust-colored banner on the temples he has lit.

On the route

Sterpa is going to Crowstone too, and he’s ahead of you. From the third sky on you find his dust; from chapter 5, “Sterpa’s Temple”, the enemy temple is his or one he lit. See The Route of the Winds.

If you’ve already played the route

Saetto promised him Volana’s first breath, if he gets to Crowstone first: the wind of every sky for one sky alone. At Porto Dorabruna he offers you the truce; at Rocca Renastella you see his people, tired, with empty bundles. Sterpa isn’t evil: his sky died first, and he believed the only God who promised him something. After Crowstone his sky is reborn: in the last of the Gods’ Challenges he’s with you. The rest is in The story of Aeolia.

What’s new

  • v24.2 In the “Sterpa’s Sky” challenge, Sterpa’s temple in the top bar has an ally’s colour, not the enemy’s red.
  • v23.3 Sterpa’s people have a rim of light and stand out in the dust; his banner is woven cloth, with the sign of a dry branch.
  • v17.3 The story has its gods: Volana of the Wind, Saetto of the Lightning, Nembra of the Rain and Lucerno of the Sun. Each chapter is a meeting with one of them. Volana sleeps in the first spring, at Crowstone, and Sterpa, the spirit of a temple in the south, is racing to wake her before you.
  • v17.3 Three new worlds: Seriso, Lunaria and Pietra di Fiorina. At Porto Dorabruna, Sterpa offers you a truce: if you accept, the route stops there.
