Ometto

The companion who walks: a cairn of four stones of the first spring. He is slow and goes only on your islands and your bridges, but he repairs a little more and protects what he repairs. He does one thing at a time on his own and learns from you with “Good job” and “No”.

Since v25.1.

Who he is

Ometto is a stone of the first spring that Volana’s first breath could not lift into the sky. It stayed on the ground, and the thread of wind taught it to walk. He is Cirro’s brother: the same heart of stone, the same youth. The The Veiled gave him his name: on the paths they stack small piles of stones to mark the way, and in Italian these are called “ometti”. He is made of four stones one on top of the other, tied with a blue cord and with a band of the Veiled’s lavender cloth. On top he has moss and two white flowers. Through a crack you can see the light of the stone. He has no face: he speaks with his body and with that light, which grows warm at “Good job” and dim at “No”.

What he does

When he finishes one thing he picks another, among the ones that have something to do:

He walks slowly, about 0.9 cells per second, just a little faster than a Veiled one. He goes only on your islands and your bridges joined to the temple. He has 60 health, like Cirro. Enemy towers hit him when he is on a cell they shoot at. When his health reaches 0, or when the bridge under him falls, he goes back to the temple, rests 25 seconds and sets off again with full health. The rock lands on the cell Ometto throws it at.

TaskWhat he does
repairswalks to your most damaged building or bridge and repairs it, 5 health per second for 5 seconds; while he repairs it, hits on it do 20% less damage
escortswalks next to the Veiled one who has been walking the longest: that Veiled one can take one hit
strikescarries a rock to the edge of your land and throws it at the enemy building closest to your temple, up to 8 cells from the edge: 45 damage, then 15 seconds of rest
collectstakes a wind bubble passing 2 cells or less from where he stands (see Wind bubbles)

How he learns

He learns like Cirro. Tap the drop at the top: Ometto’s line says what he is doing and how much he likes to repair, escort, strike and collect. When he finishes something, Good job and No appear at the bottom right for a few seconds. Good job makes him do the thing he just did more often, No less often. Each task stays between 5 and 55 out of 100: Ometto always does the others too. Tap his name to see him on the map. His leanings stay from one match to the next, saved together with your progress on the Route of the Winds; with an account, on your other phones or computers too. Ometto and Cirro each remember their own: if you change companion and then go back to Ometto, you find him as he was.

How he grows

Ometto never gets stronger: he repairs, escorts and strikes with the same numbers for everyone. He only grows in looks, like Cirro:

  • in size, with the matches you play;
  • the light of the stone takes the color of the element you use most, with miracles and Collectors;
  • an Ometto who repairs a lot gets paler, one who strikes a lot gets darker.

Where he is

In every free match, online and in the Siege, if he is the companion you chose. The first time, a card asks you which companion you want. You change it between matches in Settings → Profile, in the line “Your companion”; not during a match. He isn’t in the tutorial or on the Route of the Winds. In matches between friends online each player brings their own. In Ranked matches you bring the companion you chose, with the leanings of a young companion, the same for everyone. In the World of the Day the companion of each side is set by the day’s world, the same for everyone.

Why

Ometto is the stone the wind did not lift: that is why he walks and goes only where your bridges reach. He is all stone and stays on the ground: that is why he protects what he repairs. Like Cirro, of the first breath he has one thread left, always the same: he doesn’t get stronger. See The story of Aeolia.
