Defending the Veiled

The Veiled carry all your wind on foot. Protecting their road is worth as much as protecting the Collectors.

Why they matter

The wind from the Collectors arrives only if a Veiled one carries it to the temple. A Veiled one knocked down leaves its bundle to the enemy, and the temple takes 28 s to give birth to another. From Wind up the computer fires on purpose at the Veiled walking on the bridges.

What to do

  1. Short, double bridges. A single long road is an easy target. Two roads to the same island let the Veiled go around the danger: they choose by themselves the way least hit by enemy fire.
  2. Out of the cross. An enemy cross tower hits only along its row and its column. A road that does not pass on those lines is safe from it.
  3. Cover the roads, not just the Collectors. A tower halfway along a bridge answers whoever fires at the Veiled.
  4. No buildings on the bridges people walk through. Next to a building the Veiled squeeze by, slow down and queue up. Build on the islands.
  5. A Shield on the long bridge. The Light Shield also repairs bridge cells.
  6. A Wall in front of the Gusts. A Gust keeps its whole row and its whole column under fire: a Cloud Wall between it and the road shuts it off.
  7. Adjust the crews. By tapping a Collector you choose how many Veiled work for it. On a road under fire, None for a while saves you from losing them; on a safe road, More carriers collects faster.

When a bridge breaks

Towers do not break bridges: time, the sky and the powers made for that do (see Bridges and landings). The Veiled cut off turn back the way they came. If you reconnect the stretch within 30 s you lose nothing: see Decay and Take down.
